Our Story
How do you begin to share 54 million stories? You don’t. You let the stories tell themselves.We live in a region that has been described, criticized, memorialized, and idolized for decades by storytellers who narrate but haven’t truly lived the lives they curate. We are here to change that. Not you. Not me. But together. It is OUR journey to tell OUR stories together. We live beyond borders, we create beyond politics, religion, citizenship, or origin. We honor the land, the history, and the legacy of our region, and like the fertile land of our gulf nations, we will create and cultivate a future that has been waiting for us. We are Women in Film and Television – GCC we will be heard.

The aim of the association is to empower and make visible female professionals on all levels and in all functions in film, TV, and other visual media. This is done through: Creating international contacts Creating opportunities for members to meet up and exchange experiences, ideas, as well as grow networks. Networking is something we do “networking is a VERB.” Providing members with information and supporting them in their professional careers Knowledge – to share and collaborate. Actively discussing the main topics and issues championed by the association in public. To raise women's issues. To speak on behalf of our members and lobby for improvement in the related industries.

GCC
Women in Film and Television - GCC is a chapter of WIFTI based in Abu Dhabi, UAE for now. We have member activities in each of the GCC countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.
Our working logo honors that spirit with the main mark including the Arabic word for the gulf region, Al-Khaleej. At the base of the mark, we have highlighted each of the six countries in alphabetical order. Wherever you reside and create in the GCC we have a place for you.

Any one over the age of 18 years of age.
There will be four events per month. One will be a physical event in one of the GCC cities and the other three will be in our clubhouse MIZA and online. Week 1 – Movie Monday. Week 2 - TV Tuesday. Week 3 - Writing Wednesday. Week 4 – Physical Event Female Filmmaker Friday.
